Our Dollhouse Part 1 Update is here!


Hello everyone!

At last, the time has come! The first part of Our Dollhouse is complete and ready to play! Are you excited? I sure am!

As you know, this project started in February as an entry for Yandere Jam—or, well, if we want to get technical, the planning stage actually started in January! The demo wasn’t fully complete, as we ended up having to use some placeholders for the backgrounds, but I’d say we got quite a pleasant result overall!

Something that may surprise some of you is that I’d originally intended the demo to be longer, but we soon realized it was better to trim it with a scope knife, as there was quite a bit of content already. And so, in the end, we decided to finish the demo on Day 3.

But now, with this update, we finally get to show it to you in full! So let me stop rambling and finally give you the details on what’s new~

Update Changes and Additions

Story

  • Day 4 and 5 have been added, continuing where the demo left off, and adding many more scenes. (Fun fact: Day 4 changes depending on your choices on the previous day! What will you do?)
  • There have been a few small changes to Days 1 through 3, plus the addition of a hidden ‘trust’ mechanic. This conflicts a bit with old saves, so we suggest starting from the beginning.

Art

  • Tadeo’s pound cake CG has been polished! He’s looking lovelier than ever!
  • All the backgrounds are now fully rendered. We’ve also added two new ones!
  • Added 4 new CGs that come with the story update.

Sound & Music

  • Added two new tracks.
  • Added many new sound effects.
  • Added several new voice lines and voiced scenes.
  • Train sound is less loud.

Misc.

  • Added a Gallery—now you can see all the CGs and backgrounds you’ve seen thus far in one place!
  • Added content warnings at the start of the game.
  • Now a few voice lines change, depending on whether you named the MC ‘Maite’ or something else.

Bug Fixes

  • Now Maite doesn’t act like she got caught snooping into Tadeo’s room when she didn’t.

Questions & Answers

Q: When will the full version be released?

At the moment it’s hard to be sure. While I do have some ideal time frames in mind, I’m not in a position to give a clear answer right now.

Q: Can I stream / post a video of myself playing the game?

Of course! We’d be really happy if you did! Feel free to share a link of the video in the comments so we can have a peek.

Q: Am I allowed to make fanart / fanfic of the game?

Yes! Please do!

Q: Will the final game be free?

Yes!

Q: Can I join the team?

We’re not looking for new members right now, but if I start recruiting again I will announce this on my Twitter and Tumblr!

Q: Will it be available for Android?

As I have no experience with porting to Android, it’s not something I’m considering. This could change in the future but I won’t make any promises.

Q: Will my save from the demo carry to this new version?

Sadly, due to a few changes old saves won’t work. I recommend playing from the start! Sorry for any inconvenience.
